Stoneware
Stoneware is the most common ceramic pottery used for baking, cooking and food vessels because of ability to withstand the temperatures required for cooking and it’s waterproof properties.
The term Stoneware describes the type of clay and firing temperature used to create this ceramic pottery. Stoneware is typically vitreous or semi-vitreous which means it is fired at a temperature (between 1200°C & 1300 °C) that makes it almost glass-like in it’s final form.
